De Bokkepruik (in those days De Rustenbergh) used to be a farm with livery stables and inn where the stage-coach changed horses, the travellers enjoyed a hearty meal and spent the night on their journey North. This inn has been managed by the family Koeslag for centuries and since 1992 Jaap Istha and Heleen Heleen Istha-Koeslag have hold sway. Because of the many renovations only a few original elements of the building have been preserved. Behind the modern façade, however, a warm and atmospheric interior is hidden.
De Bokkepruik is situated at the Hessenweg, surrounded by a large garden with age-old trees. It still is an oasis of rest within the built-up area of Hardenberg. Within a stone’s throw of the hotel you will find the forests of the “Overijsselse Vechtdal” and the “Sallandse Heuvelrug” where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful nature.
The atmospheric, exclusive, one-Michelin-star restaurant, guarantees a wonderful evening for both private and business occasions. Thanks to its favourable location and spacious parking place, De Bokkepruik is extremely suitable for your business meeting with overnight stay; after all, industrial zones and exhibition centres in Hardenberg can easily be reached by car within 5 minutes.
The Lounge-café with reading table for a delicious cappuccino, a glass of wine, delicious salads, various lunch sandwiches, meat- and fish dishes and a daily changing menu. In the evening, hotel guests can enjoy a snack and a drink at the bar. In the morning, breakfast (buffet) is served in the sun lounge of the lounge-café. Jaap Istha is known for his delicious homemade jams.
